Perpetual Mvmt< >Snd is a newly formed performance collective dedicated to exploring the intersection of various artistic media (mainly dance and music), the way these media inform and inspire one another in a perpetual loop, and the way this intersection creates something that is greater than movement or sound on its own (hence, Perpetual Mvmt< >Snd). By working with both improvised and composed material, its members seek to discover and accentuate the organically emerging patterns and forms that lend order to our daily sensory experience. Rather than considering form as something that's externally imposed, composed, or directed, the members of Perpetual are fascinated by patterns that emerge as products of dynamic, self-organizing systems. As the performers adapt to internal and external stimuli, impulses, and interactions, their goal is to create an environment where patterns can materialize and develop, seeking to present work that is at once spontaneous and deeply considered.
